Lake Cascade

As we transition into the cooler months, we at Hero Fishing are excited to share some highlights from our summer and fall events and give you a sneak peek into what’s coming up next. This year has been filled with meaningful experiences, camaraderie, and of course, plenty of fishing!

First Annual Veterans Fly Fishing Event in Yellowstone Park

This June, we had the incredible opportunity to host our First Annual Veterans Fly Fishing Event in the breathtaking landscapes of Yellowstone Park. We welcomed two deserving veterans who spent their days casting lines and catching stunning cutbows and rainbows. The beauty of the park provided a perfect backdrop for relaxation and connection, reminding us all of the healing power of nature.

A special thank you goes out to Drift Fly Lodge in Island Park for graciously hosting our group. Their hospitality and support were invaluable in making this event a success.

Celebrating Seven Years of Service

In July, we proudly celebrated our seventh anniversary of taking our nation’s heroes on unforgettable fishing adventures, all provided at no cost to the participants. It’s been a remarkable journey, and we are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our community, volunteers, and partners who make these adventures possible.

Second Yellowstone Fly Fishing Adventure

September brought us another exciting event as we hosted our Second Yellowstone Fly Fishing Adventure. This time, we had the honor of welcoming participants from the U.S. Navy, adding an extra layer of camaraderie and shared experiences. The event showcased not just fishing, but also the bonds formed through shared stories and laughter in the great outdoors.

Looking Ahead: Ice Fishing Season

As we look forward to the winter months, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be returning to Island Park in January for our Disabled Veterans Ice Fishing Event, once again hosted by Drift Fly Lodge. This event promises to be a wonderful opportunity for our veterans to enjoy the thrill of ice fishing and connect with fellow servicemen and women.

In February, we’ll head to Lake Cascade for our 5th Annual Jumbo Perch Adventure with two trips planned, followed by our 3rd Annual Event at Lake Gogebic to wrap up the ice fishing season. We can’t wait to get back on the ice and create more lasting memories.

Planning for Spring 2025

Looking ahead to Spring 2025, we are actively planning a series of exciting events that will include Kayak Fishing, Fly Fishing, and Inland Lake Fishing adventures. We can’t wait to bring even more opportunities for our veterans to experience the joy of fishing and the therapeutic benefits it offers.
